Grand Theft Auto IV (The Complete Edition) PS3 & PC

The following is a short review for Grand Theft Auto IV on the PS3 and PC.

Pros:
Tons of places to explore.
Tons of stuff to do.
Interesting NPC and conversations (ex: Little Jacob and Dwayne)

Cons:
Poor game visuals and optimization.
Very repetitive missions.
Horrible movement control, sluggish cover system and frustrating car physics.
Poorly designed game mechanics.
Extremely ugly and bland without custom mod or hi res texture files.

Quick summary:
Feels like "Rockstar Inc" had tons of great ideas but in the end it's really just a bunch of lousy and poorly designed game mechanics mixed into a poorly optimized game. Both the PC and PS3 version suffered from low textures, bad lighting and unstable frame rates, not to mention the horrible controls. Even the fastest car in the game "Turismo" drives like a fucking boat. Super car can't even make a turn at 5 MPH without tipping over. Yeah, it's really that bad.

Most of the mission requires you to drive from point A to point B, kill a bunch of guys, drive back for a reward. That pretty much sums up the whole game. It's fun for a while but soon or later you'll realize the poorly designed game mechanics can be very frustrating.

For Example: You just killed a mission target and you're suppose to loose the cops but the game decided you must answer a fucking phone call while all the police are rushing towards you. You can then decide to hang up the call and miss the story elements or you can stand still listen to the conversation and get arrested which will end the call as well. WHAT THE FUCK were they thinking?

The cover system is broken as well, they tried to be "Gears of War" but failed miserably. It does nothing but make the character movement unpredictable and frustrating and it really doesn't give you any advantage in a gun fight.

The following pictures are GTA IV running with ICEnchancer Mod, Better City Texture and custom car mod. The actual game looks nothing like this.
